Mill ends is yarn that is pieced together with the extras from the yarn mill. The pattern and colors are completely random, and you never know what you're going to get, except it will be all natural colors - white, browns, blacks, and grays.
The hats are long enough to fold the edge up, but short enough that you can wear it down too.
Alpaca fiber is absolutely luscious. It is soft, warm, and all natural. Each hat is hand crocheted. The alpaca fiber used in this yarn was grown by the alpacas at Springtime Farms, a U.S. farm and other small local farms.
This alpaca hat is a hand wash item. Fill a bathroom sink with warm to hot water. Once it's filled add a squish of dishwashing liquid. Swirl your hand though the water once. Do not try to create a lot of bubbles. Place the hat on top of the water and gently press it under. Leave for 20 minutes. Drain the sink. Refill the sink with warm to hot water. Place the alpaca hat on top of the water and gently press it under. Leave for 20 minutes. Drain the sink. Gently press water out of the hat. Lay flat to dry.
